Categorisation of HCSP refers to nursing. We have 3 levels of nursing care.
A) Medical Attendant – these people have no medical knowledge and are there to provide only physical support and help in activities of daily life.
B) Basic Nursing – these are diploma holders or ANM nurses who have basic medical knowledge and they can handle medications and also help in activities of daily life.
Some senior nurses in this category can handle tube feeding and catheters.
C) ICU trained nurses – these nurses are diploma holders or ANM nurses with prior experience in ICU care of patient. These nurses can handle ventilation equipments,
suction, tracheostomy, all other catheters, tube feeding and enteral medications.
